American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift is globally known for writing narrative country pop songs about her personal life. She has racked up an impressive 200 million – plus record sales since first appearing on the scene back in 2006. The pennsylvania born star, who aspired to the likes of Stevie Nicks and Shania Twain growing up, has recently been placed at number eight on billboards ‘Greatest All Time Artists’, the highest for anyone starting their career in the 21st century. Swift has just been honored at the 2019 Women in Music Event at the Hollywood Palladium in LA, where she became the first ever recipient of Billboards ‘Women Of The Decade’ Award.
The singer-songwriter is being recognised not just for her musical achievements but her commitment to protecting creative rights, music education, literacy programs, cancer research, disaster relief and the ‘Times Up’ initiative.
