Nearly half of project professionals say construction projects have been delayed as a result of coronavirus, as fears grow that there will be future disruptions, according to a survey by the Association for Project Management. As the UK prepares to reopen for business, 77% of respondents anticipate future disruption to projects as a result of coronavirus.

The coronavirus outbreak is causing trouble for tradespeople, as they are being asked to cut their pay rates by up to 30% due to a 70% reduction in demand for labour last month as the lockdown hit. Building firms are asking to cut their rates anywhere between 10-30% to share the costs of reduced output as sites restart, according to Hudson Contract.
